Key Account & Business Development Manager

Summary of Responsibilities: The Key Account & Business Development Manager is responsible for all Relay Panel and Substation Control House sales. Their goal is to increase profitable revenue and become the Voice of the Customer within KVA.

Working effectively as part of a team, this individual must be a motivated, pro-active, self-starter that possesses significant attention to detail and a willingness to travel to meet with current and potential clients during sales calls. Approximately 50% travel required. This position will require the ability to communicate clearly with customers, suppliers and KVA co-workers.

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor of Science or Associate Degree, with 5 years of energy sector sales experience.

· A successful track record of selling to the North American electric utility market is required.

· Familiarity with electrical cooperatives, municipalities, engineering firms and investor-owned utilities.

· Experience with evaluating, securing contracts and managing a network of independent field sales representatives is required.

· One-on-one and group presentation skills required along with a sincere, likeable and outgoing personality.

· Experience in the Utility approval process and quoting process will be required.

Key Account & Business Development Manager Activities:

· Maintain existing account relationships, generate profitable sales at new accounts and implement the KVA Business Plan.

· Will be required to work closely with the Estimating Department and KVA Senior Leadership to generate leads, provide accurate quotes and follow-up for order placement.

· An attention to detail and the ability to multi-task to ensure that commitments are fully established & communicated with our clients and or internal Team and then assist the Plant Management Team to manage these commitments to completion by the team.

· Monitor changes to project scope and work with Project Management to obtain Change Orders.

· Participate in a project review process for all completed projects.
