Automation Applications Engineer
Job description
Summary/Objective
Automation Application Engineer, position oversees the technical application design, construction, and implementation of assigned projects. Developing an accurate budget and project Proposal, aligning key concept points, sequence of operations and mechanical descriptions to create a custom integrated system for the customer.

1. Engage with the customer through the requirements definition, generating concepts, cost development, and presentation of the proposal.
2. Develop a defined Proposal that clarifies all customer requirements.
3. Interact with the sales and management teams to ensure technical alignment.
4. Present concepts to customers emphasizing competitive advantages.
5. Assist the internal proposal design team and processes.
6. Document technical requirements, oversee project plans and project change procedures.
7. Participate in technical advisory roles, as required.
8. Interact with Customers at all levels, as required.
9. Ensure effective handoff to operations for ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, and copy machines.
Physical Demands

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to ten (10) pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
Travel to Customer facilities is expected for this position.
Preferred Education and Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
· 2+ years of industry experience (preferably in the automation industry).
· Experience in Quoting, Sales and Customer Interaction.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Ability to read and understand mechanical design drawings and Customer Part Prints.
- Understanding of Electrical & Pneumatic controls architecture.
· Successfully work with project teams and customers to design and estimate complete systems.
· Recognize and determine cost factors, such as timelines, materials, labor, tooling, etc.
